Loughborough Local Studies is a collection of local and family history material. It contains over 5,000 books, as well as journals, maps, photographs, newspapers and local records. The collection is user-friendly and housed in its own reading room on the ground floor of the Public Library on Granby Street. Volunteers are available weekdays between 10 – 12am and 2 – 4pm. At other times Library staff will help visitors.
We provide a service to both the serious researcher and the casual caller and over the years our resources have been used by students and teachers, architects and planners, writers and artists, cyclists, walkers and many others, as well as our regular local and family historians.
We are always looking for volunteers with an interest in Local History and Genealogy, please call in for a chat.
