Enjoy the fun of history with Swannington Heritage Trust. A fabulous 200 year old restored windmill, if you are lucky you will find Teddy and Tess Miller working the mill. Be amazed at the work of our volunteers such as the ten-foot diameter, 1.75 ton mill brakewheel. Family fun events that use the coal-mining sites, don’t forget to bring an apple for the horse at the replica 15th century gin pit! With our network of footpaths you can explore Robert Stephenson’s incline plane, our woodlands and nature reserves every day of the year.
Our volunteers do a marvelous job and it would be great to have a few more to greet visitors at the mill, maintain our 10 acres of woodland, help with events, research our history and assist in many other ways.
